With an aim to further my education, I took up the Kaplan Diploma as a pathway into a Bachelor’s Degree programme. I chose to major in Psychology as it has always been a subject of interest to me and allows me to understand individuals from all walks of life in my role as a Staffing Specialist. It is also my dream that one day, I would be able to open a clinic for the needy as a counsellor or psychiatrist.
Upon attaining my Kaplan Diploma, my career progressed, and I was given a promotion at my workplace with a salary increment.
I chose the Kaplan Diploma for its recognition and while it was not the easiest task having to juggle between a new job and schoolwork, I am very thankful for my classmates who have made learning a very effective and enjoyable experience.
As an international student, I chose to further my education with Kaplan as it offers over 450 programmes and certifications for higher education and skills development. However, what attracted me most about the Kaplan Diploma was the possible completion of the programme in 8 months, which would undoubtedly give me a head start amongst my peers and a competitive edge at work in future.
Choosing to major in Accountancy was an obvious choice as Mathematics has been my favourite subject since young. I believe that, with a qualification in Accountancy, employment opportunities will be aplenty across a wide range of industries as every company needs to monitor and evaluate its finances.
My lecturers at Kaplan were very helpful and approachable. They made sure students understood each concept and if we had more questions, they were easily accessible by email. During my online classes during the pandemic, while slightly less convenient compared to physical classes, I appreciate the extra effort that my lecturers put in to get everyone involved in the lessons.
Upon completion of my Kaplan Diploma, I continued to further my education with Kaplan and am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and Financial Management with the University of Portsmouth. My experience at Kaplan has been wonderful so far. On top of a well-structured assessment method, Kaplan also helps us to acquire skills outside of the school curriculum by arranging different workshops. This has provided me additional experience for better employability.
